Vascular Intervention Radiology
The most precise test currently available for their examinationComprising the selective study of the vascular tree by injecting high-contrast agents to obtain X-ray images. This allows digital subtraction techniques to be used to perform a minute analysis of the blood vessels, and is the most precise test currently available for their examination.
In terms of therapy or intervention, it can be used to treat vascular lesions from inside the blood vessel using a simple arterial puncture to provide access. We employ this technique to occlude diseased vessels, dilate them, reconstruct them using prosthetics or stents, or to reopen them through lysis or by dissolving the clots which have formed. One example of the latest developments of these techniques would be the endovascular treatment of abdominal aneurysms and cerebral aneurysms, which can be resolved without the need for open surgery, minimising both the surgical risk and hospital admission times.
